Inquest, why not?

You can immediately foresee that majority of the DAP's politicians and friends will go on a rampage over the cabinet's decision yesterday. Unker Kit has started his usual unsavory rhetoric in his blog posting pertaining to the same and many blogs I am sure will follow suit. The fact that the government is bending (more and more) towards the opposition's whims and fancies, shall not in any way, suffice. That would not be enough to quench their thirst and satisfy their hunger for some (badly needed) lowly political points.

Why would not an inquest alone be sufficient to investigate the cause of death? Professional witnesses, medical, forensic evidence etc. will be presented in that judicial investigation. Evidence will be lead in an open court. Every shred of evidence tendered will be recorded and shall be made available for public scrutiny upon its completion. Everyone is entitled to see whatever transpires in such proceeding, it is a public inquiry. Parties will be accountable for evidence lead in such an inquest, you lie in the proceeding, you will still pay the price. The power of the court is wide enough, even to an extent that it may allow hearsay evidence to be admitted in such proceeding, if it thinks fit. And ultimately, if there is evidence of murder and/or culpable act or omission on anyone's part leading to the death, the verdict of the court will lead to criminal prosecution. Isn't that what the brouhaha is all about? Furthermore verdicts of the inquest are revisable by the higher courts if parties are not satisfied with its findings. So, what's the fuss here?

And why making noise on the proposed RCI? Why, tak percaya ke? Shocked that Najib & Co. are going with "your flow"? Now coupled with an inquest some more.. Aiyah... got that feeling you are about to be check-mated by the other fella is it? Serves you right. People getting tired of this incessant politicking. Everything under the sun you want to politicize just to save your own skin. Trying hard to make the people to not see the wood for the trees, is that it? You are trying TOO hard. You think we people can't see?

Reading this, we know already lah!

What the Malaysian public want is a Royal Commission of Inquiry into the mysterious causes of Teoh’s death at 14th floor of MACC Hqrs, the investigating procedures of MACC as well as into the independence, professionalism and integrity of the MACC whether it has become the catspaw of its political masters to declare war on the Pakatan Rakyat instead of declaring war on corruption.

MCA, Gerakan, MIC and SUPP Ministers
have led the Teoh family and the public “up the garden path” into believing that they support a Royal Commission of Inquiry into Teoh’s death.

What "Malaysian public"? It's more like "What the DAP and its supporters want.." It's never about Teoh, it's all about the "MACC versus DAP", that's all. It's not "Justice for Teoh", just admit it, it is more about "Justice for DAP and friends in Selangor". It's not about integrity, it's all about shifting the attention from your own problems, in Penang, Selangor, Kedah & everywhere. And why the not so clever initiative in lumping ups the "MCA, Gerakan, MIC & SUPP" cabinet ministers with regard to this particular cabinet decision? Trying hard to play that "easy" game here are we? What is that got to do with anything lah? Why don't you just stop at MCA and Gerakan-lah brother, no need to play it safe by including MIC and SUPP ministers to complete the sick equation in your mind. And you have the cheek to accused UMNO, NST & Utusan Malaysia trying to play the racial card here ...man, some people!

Salam Tuan Lawyer,

Good one bro ! will call u whenever i need a lawyer :)

The Malaysian public in my kampung (Pas or Umno) sebenarnya tak berapa ambil pot kes MACC vs Dap ni. Kalau ada sorang dua tu yang cuba jadi hero, bila ditanya sikit, mula tukar topik lain. Main ceduk je apa Dap sogok, biar tak faham apapun..

Pak malau dari kampong aku kot !

"... A magistrate's inquest will not find the culprit - if there is one. So what it's the point?....."

Is the above statement correct? If not, why the how and why the writer come into that conclusion.

If it is not correct, sure the public will be further confused.

Please enlighthen us.
