Easiest way out

GEORGE TOWN: DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng defended Karpal Singh and blamed former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad for the uproar over the DAP national chairman’s plan to sue the Sultan of Perak.

He said Karpal was merely stating a matter of law that the Sultan could be taken to court.

Read Karpal and the royals: ‘Blame Dr M’

Blame it on others. This is the one trait politician must be very good at. Sensing attacks, don't hesitate, open your mouth & blame it on the other person. Definitely the best way out when cornered, that.

Most pertinent question i.e. "why did all that has happened this past few days, happen?", that you don't ask. Don't dwell on why the 1993 amendment to the constitution was made. Don't ask whether it has any bearing with whatever is going on with regard to Perak's brouhaha. No need to distinguish and separate each case from the other. Don't seek answers to why since the 1993 amendment till now there were only two sittings of the court and none of them were with regard to the institution itself when exercising its prerogative and discretionary powers under the constitution. There is no need to differentiate between official and personal capacity. No need to identify whether it's the person per se or the institution he represented is the issue here. Just don't. Generalize all, lump it together. Easier that way, isn't it? Get it all tangled up, the murkier the issue gets, the better.

And to complete your great escape, you must have the audacity to throw back this kind of questions;
  • “If we look at history, the person who made this law was from Umno itself. If you want to place blame, then blame the Umno person who is responsible for the deed,”
  • “What wrong has been committed by Pakatan Rakyat or Karpal Singh?”
Champion!

P/s: For record purposes, the DAP Chairman, inter-alia, has this to say
here;
  • Dr Mahathir Mohamed, as Prime Minister, took a bold, and the right, step in bringing about the amendments in 1993 for which he must be commended.
  • The passage of the amendments to the Federal Constitution in 1993 has, in fact, been a check on perpetration of crime against citizens on the part of the royalty. The situation before the amendments is a thing of the past. The amendments have achieved the desired result

orang politik bila dia masuk longkang salahkan rakyat. atau media.
bila dia tak buat longkang pun salahkan rakyat. atau media.

i missed the action, bro, being in cairo (najib press con/4 lompat), rafah (demo kuala kangsar), el arish (nizar-karpal-etc ngamuk), jerusalem (dua pilihanraya kecil akan tiba), amman (keco pula di kedah sebab sultan cari adun hilang) last one week.
i was reading my blackberry constantly for news of perak, kedah, selangor, perak, perak, sultan perak (the roaming bill this month will kill me!).
i pergi mideast nak tolong sikit orang gaza. tapi masalah palestin pun tak ini macam kecoh.

Salam Tuan Lawyer,

I was surprised with their angle of attack kali ni.. apa kaitan nya TDM dengan Karpal's burst ??

might as well blame the founder of democracy for allowing freedom of speech ! better still, blame his own mother for giving birth to him, kalau tak dilahirkan, takadalah Karpal Singh..tak jadilah isu ni.

I know now what the real meaning of the word "clown" is. And Lim Guan Eng is a clown in the truest sense of the word - a political clown.

I have been seeing all kinds of clowns from both sides of the political divide but this clown takes the cake.

Let's have more of this clownish behaviour so we can at least be less serious about what is happening in the PR.
