Everyone is on the mood to perform better than the rest nowadays. Yes, it is a normal virtue but you don't have this everyday in Malaysia. Well, we Malaysian usually like to kick it back and go with flow. Take it easy on things. We love to "lepak". But not this few days! Everyone wants to be better than the others. He also wants to be better than his predecessor. He said it here.

Saya selalu beritahu anak buah dan dalam ceramah-ceramah, kita perlu berlatih dan mempersiapkan diri. Kita perlu menimba pengalaman, pemerhatian dan mendengar kehendak rakyat.
Sebagai seorang pemimpin, kita jangan bersikap mengarah sahaja, kita perlu juga mendengar kehendak rakyat.
He mentioned "kehendak rakyat" in the interview. Now, he's in the Tug of War game with the federal government. Going by what he said in the news today, it seems that this is what the people of Terengganu wants.
Is that so?

KEMAMAN 25 April – Menteri Besar, Datuk Ahmad Said akan mengadakan pertemuan dengan Perdana Menteri, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi bagi membincangkan isu royalti minyak Terengganu dalam tempoh dua minggu lagi.
Ahmad berkata, beliau sedang mencari tarikh yang sesuai untuk mengadakan pertemuan tersebut yang dijangka diadakan pada pertengahan bulan depan.
"Kita akan cuba yang terbaik berhubung isu royalti minyak ini"
Ahmad berkata, isu berkenaan akan diselesaikan dengan cara terbaik dan rakyat Terengganu perlu menunggu untuk menyaksikan penyelesaiannya.
"Rakyat berdoalah untuk menyaksikan penyelesaian isu ini,'' katanya.
Ditanya maklum balas yang diterima daripada rakyat terhadap tindakan kerajaan negeri tersebut, Ahmad berkata, ``Para wartawan lebih maklum mengenai reaksi rakyat.''."
Whether the above is really the "kehendak rakyat" or not and whether the people has actually benefited from the royalty money, and that the money all the while has trickled to the rightful coffers, the rapid development in Terengganu inherited from the previous administration, economically, spiritually and mentally, together with the higher standard of living in Terengganu bear witness to the same. Politics aside, one must view this objectively and look around one self to find the answer. If there was wrongdoing, where is the charge? If the people felt that this was an issue, did they not vote for BN Terengganu to come to power on 8th March 2008, with a 2/3 majority win, despite the political tsunami in other states? It's that simple.
The big question is will he perform? Is this issue with regard to petroleum royalty tug of war will be the key index of his performance? If this is going to be the indicator of what to come from the new MB, it will be one long sad term of BN ruling for the people of Terengganu. From the look of things now in Terengganu, he's hired by the people et al. for what he was previously known, as a foot soldier, good for nothing but "wars" only. For the sake of Terengganu and its people, I hope I am wrong.

Inilah jadinya bila kempen pilihanraya, rakyat menatapi poster yang terpampang adalah poster deris sebagai MB tetapi bila kerajaan dibentuk muka mat said pulak yang menjadi pemimpin nombor wahid negeri. Saya adalah salah seorang pengundi yang tertipu. Kita order Teh Tarik, air suam yang diberikan.
Saya amat bersimpati dengan tuan. Kalau di bawah undang-undang Jualan Barangan dan Perkhidmatan boleh disaman ni, hahahaha. Jazakhumullah bi khairan tuan kerana sudi menjengok dan memberi komen di blog yang tidak seberapa ini.
