ACA Allowed To Investigate Money Politics In Umno, Says Abdullah

*"The Umno headquarters had decided and allowed the ACA to come in and investigate," he told reporters after launching the Malaysian Agricultural, Horticultural and Agro-Tourism (MAHA) Exhibition 2008, here today.

Does the ACA need the approval from UMNO headquarters to allow them to commence investigation with regard to money politics in UMNO? Let's call a spade a spade, money politics is corruption. There should be no legal difficulties and technicalities in defining and enforcing it. There are no two ways about it. There should not be two sets of laws, one for UMNO and one for the rest of the world when it comes to corruption. The "independent" ACA does have the power to investigate on any form of corruption (especially when reports have been made) notwithstanding anyone's approval or otherwise, no?

Sometimes you do wonder why they (this is from BERNAMA by the way) allow such statement to be published in the news in the first place. They must have "misquoted" the guy, eh?
