He quits the posts he held in the party. That's commendable in view of the post he currently hold as the Speaker of Dewan Rakyat. And coming from him as an UMNO man, I see this as a positive sign for UMNO. Well, let's be fair. Credit must be given where credit is due.
Why some quarters are sensationalizing the news as if he has left UMNO is beyond me.
Pandikar Amin quits as Kota Marudu Umno div chief

KOTA KINABALU: Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia has tendered his resignation as Kota Marudu Umno division chief 'in the interest of neutrality' of his Dewan Rakyat Speaker's post.
Sources said that he sent his resignation letter to party president Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi Thursday but it was not immediately known if the Prime Minister had accepted it.
It was learnt that he wanted to remain as an ordinary Umno member.

Paklah should accept this resignation and give his full blessing on the move made by the Dewan Rakyat Speaker. Now, if and when that happens, shall be a step closer towards reforms, be it for UMNO or for the nation political scene itself.
