I heard over the news at TV3 (Buletin Utama) just now that somebody is in trouble for the purchase of 14 brand new E200 Mercs for Terengganu State Government for failing to adhere to standard government practice & procedure.
It was also mentioned during the news that ACA is also investigating whether there were elements of malpractice and corruption (abuse of power) for the said purchases. It was further mentioned that there were mistakes on the amount mentioned as the maintenance costs for the previous MB's official car. Unfortunately it was not elaborated further during the news. We shall know soon enough.

"We admit the mistake in the maintenance cost for the former Terengganu menteri besar's car. The cost for 2008 was actually RM27,923.41 and not RM131,596.66," he said at Wisma Darul Iman here.

Apparently some of the MBs agreed with the fact that maintenance costs for the Perdana V6 is costly then the merc. Read Pahang, Kelantan MBs back Terengganu over Perdana car maintenance cost and here.
They may have a point, but they must understand that the crux of the issue is with regard to the timing. Now is not the time. You don't go and splurge your reserves and indulge in an extravagant expense or luxury when you are at the same time asking the rakyat to tighten their belts. Know your priority, practice what you preach!
Having said that and in the event there was hanky-panky or abuse of power, one must face the music. What goes around comes around. You'll reap what you sow. No one shall be excluded.

SAY NO TO NWO!!
Kelah fish hot soup, no? Nice pic! Someone sure is in trouble. Arrogance plus stupidity, that's the end result right there in that pic. I was laughing when reading his 100 days interview in that UMNO Terengganu's website that you highlighted herein. He got no finesse whatsoever. This one happened to be a Chief Minister from the UMNO ranks. Man, UMNO is surely in deep shit.
Bro CT,;-) itulah orang kata "Jangan hentam keromo, takut-takut nak tarik ular lidi tertarik naga!" Lyrics from M.Nasir's song "Bukalah Hatimu". Too much drama-lah nowadays!
Resign lah MB. Dah jadi MB, nak naik MB (Mercedes Benz). Jangan lupa kamu orang Malaysia. Support Malaysia, guna Proton.....
Kalau alasan mahu pakai kereta yg low maintenance, why not tukar pakai kancil or myV ke? I hv used my car for 5 years. In that 5 years, I hv traveled more than 150,000 km, total maintenance cost tak sampai 25k, including tukar enjin, tayar kereta, general services, etc. The govt. of terengganu should hv look at maintenance records first and check for any hanky panky dulu before coming up with those conclusion. Not only habiskan $$ rakyat, ia juga create bad image for national car. Perhaps ni another work of ** spin doctors.
Well said bro ismail n ...Amazing how they justify their case without having due consideration and proper consultation prior presenting the same. Then again, that's what desperados do! Desperate times call for desperate measures even to an extent of over-killing their own case. Pity!
